week one, lab
Have you figured anything out?
[ Mizuki's been in here a couple of times over the past few days - as far as investigating, the computer room is simply the most logical place to look for someone from their time period. Books are basically extinct. Even if they haven't been able to get anything out of the old computers yet, they have to at least keep trying.
And they've seen this guy in here a few times, tinkering with something or other. Concentrating on their own plans, they'd left him alone; now, not having much success, they finally approach, in seemingly light spirits. ]
You always seem like you're tinkering on something in here.

No... That's all right. I don't think I would. [ if he's lying now, he could easily fake a map, too. The strange part is that Mizuki doesn't think he is. They have no idea how to rationalize what's happening. ] We're from completely different worlds - that's the logical explanation for this. But we're both human. Some kind of alternate dimension, maybe...?
[ brow furrowing. ]
This is much more outrageous than I realized. Maybe I'm still dreaming...

[It lost its charm after the second day here, really.]
One of the other guys in here mentioned alternate dimensions, too. Something about wormholes and multiverse theory. Kind of out there, but given that our hosts are at least claiming to be gods, it gives some kind of power to their tale. Either they're divine, or they've got a hold of something way bigger than what we're all used to. That gives them an upper hand, either way.

It sounds like something straight out of a sci-fi movie... but since I'm living it, I suppose I have no choice but to accept it.
[ it's in Mizuki's nature to ponder over things and try and find the best and most straightforward answer; this is going to bother them for a while, the not knowing and not understanding. Maybe they can ask one of the gods about it. The only problem is that they don't trust the gods, either. In the end, they just sigh, pinching the bridge of their nose. ]
My life gets more and more crazy! Ahh. I'm ready for a vacation after this. [ their arms drop back down to their sides, and they shake their head, trying to let go of the topic for the time being. Focus on the present. ] Enough of that. Guy-kun, did you hurt your arm?

Guy's smile falls a bit.]
Ah. You did notice, then. [He glances down for a moment, at his dead fish of a hand, before shrugging half-heartedly.] Don't worry, it doesn't hurt.
I found out the hard way that our new rule also applies to food and drink. One cup of tea later and it's like my whole arm is gone.
When Patience said no means no, I suppose she really meant it.

You got that just from taking a cup of tea? That punishment really doesn't fit the crime.
[ so they can take away the function of entire body parts. Mizuki hums. ]
Can I take a look at it?
no subject
[With their request, he simply turns his chair to face them more openly, awkwardly adjusting his arm for them to examine. It's odd, trying to position it without accidentally injuring himself from the lack of sensation.]
Sure, go ahead.
It's not showing signs of rot, as far as I can tell. I just can't feel or move anything.
no subject
[ Mizuki's not a doctor or anything; nonetheless, they take his arm, gingerly feeling for some sort of implant or something along those lines. ]
They haven't attached anything to us, as far as I can tell. Some kind of subdermal mechanism, maybe...?
no subject
Hahah-- what, you mean some sort of machine that just turns the nerves off?
Interesting idea, though I'm not sure how much I want to think about the implications of that.
